Ways We’ve Saved THOUSANDS By Working Remotely
Mar 11, 2026Your lifestyle, needs, etc may be different but this is how we’ve personally saved thousands by working remotely after leaving our corporate 9-5 jobs:
1.VEHICLES
Now that we both work from home, we no longer needed 2 vehicles. Sold 1 car and now only have 1 vehicle. Pocketed cash from the sale and no longer have the additional maintenance and car insurance expenses
2.GAS
No longer both driving to offices 5 days a week!
3.CLOTHING
Since we don’t have to look nice going into offices for work, we’re not purchasing as much clothing.
4.MAKEUP
I don’t wear makeup 5 days a week anymore. A big money saver.
5.DOGGY DAYCARE
We used to drop our dog off at a doggy daycare on our way to work a few times a week bc we were gone all day. Now we don’t have to do that! And he’s way happier too.
6.EATING OUT
We used to both eat lunch out a couple times a week when in offices. Now, we eat almost every meal at home.
7.CHILDCARE
Childcare is so expensive and because I’m a freelancer and biz owner, I’m able to be primarily with our kids with my work revolving around that.
8.TIME
Not monetary but holy moly we’ve saved so much time by working remotely. Hours spent driving to offices, getting ready for work, etc. The time alone we’ve gained back is insane.
